Known locations: Various islands and continents (formerly), Spherus Magna

Matape Tortoise species were created by Makuta using liquid protodermis and viruses to inhabit Matoran Universe. They were highly rare to be found, but rumoured them living in small populations in various islands and continents. Usually they were living hidden from dangers, mostly Matape Tortoises prefered living close at shores and jungles. Because of various war events in Matoran Universe history,  these events decreased Matape Tortoises' population drasticly, making them incredibly hard to be found.

          After Teridax's defeat in Battle Of Bara Magna, the surviving Matape Tortoises emigrated from Matoran Universe to Spherus Magna. These creatures emigrated to north and north-west of Spherus Magna.

Abilities and traits: 

Matape Tortoise species appears to have shell which resembles mask. They are relatively harmless and peaceful and somehow slow to walk. Their shell is highly indestructible for against incoming predators. Matape Tortoises does not make cry, but they are telepathic Rahi creatures, meaning that they can call telepathically to its own kind and other creatures.

          These unusual tortoises have been nicknamed "Prediction" tortoises, due to their unique and unusual ability, slightly similiar ability as Dermis Turtles, but differs from them drasticly. Matape Tortoises appears to have different colored shells, seven in total. They appear to have red, blue, green, white, brown, black and pearly grey shells, for each seven of them predicts viewer's future.

Brown (Guidance): The most common in Matape Tortoise population. These brown shelled tortoises predicts viewer's future by guiding viewer's path to choose different consequences.

Blue (Alliance): Slightly common in Matape Tortoise species. The blue shelled tortoises foretells viewer to may encounter someone in future.

Green (Physical and metaphorical creation): Also somehow common as blue shelled Matape tortoises. These green shelled ones divines viewer's physical creation or metaphorical creation, for instance creating own talent or making friendship connections in future.

White (Fortune): The white shelled Matape tortoises are few in their overall population, making them somewhat rare. The white shelled Matape tortoises predicts viewer's unknown vision in its upcoming event or someone's event.

Red (Danger): Red shelled Matape tortoises are more rare than white shelled ones. These red shelled Matape Tortoises prophesies viewer's upcoming danger, as a warning sign to avoid what the viewer has seen in vision.

Black (Fate): The black shelled ones are even more rare among in Matape Tortoise population. The black shelled Matape Tortoises presages viewer's or other one's possible death in future.

Pearl grey (Accomplishment): Extremely rare Matape Tortoises in population, which they are highly endangered in wilds. The pearl grey shelled ones foretells accomplishment for the viewer, where the viewer could possibly accomplish something great in future.
